The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to step into a leadership role where you can take full ownership of the HR function. You'll work closely with an engaged Executive team, providing trusted advice and guidance while helping to shape the agency's people strategy.
This is a true generalist role, covering everything from recruitment and workforce planning to employee relations, coaching managers, and building organisational capability. With a small but growing HR team to lead and mentor, you'll play a key role in supporting the organisation through an exciting period of change and transformation.
The Role
Lead the HR function in a small agency environment:
* Provide HR advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle
* Support and coach managers to build confidence in people management
* Oversee recruitment for APS and non-APS roles in a growing workforce
* Take ownership of HR processes, frameworks, and compliance with legislation
* Build trust and credibility with the Executive and broader leadership teams
* Lead and mentor a small HR team, ensuring collaborative and consultative ways of working
The Ideal Person
You are an experienced HR generalist with the confidence to work autonomously across a broad remit and the credibility to partner with senior leaders. You thrive in environments where you can roll up your sleeves, think strategically, and provide hands-on support across multiple HR functions. Your strong knowledge of HR frameworks, legislation, and best practice enables you to take ownership and give the Executive team confidence in delegating HR responsibilities.
Cultural fit will be key, you bring a consultative, solutions-focused style and are able to guide and support managers without being overly directive. You're confident leading a small team and enjoy building capability in others. Experience in a smaller agency or similar environment will be highly regarded.

Salary / Rate
* $120k - $125k + Super (negotiable)
* 12-month non-ongoing
* Open to s26 Transfer at level
