The Role
* Immanuel Lutheran College is seeking a vibrant, relational and faith-filled leader to serve as our College Chaplain – Faith and Formation
This is a strategic and pastoral leadership role at the heart of our P–12 community. The Chaplain will nurture and strengthen the Christ-centred identity of the College, weaving faith, formation and service through worship, wellbeing, curriculum partnerships and community engagement.
You will lead worship, shape spiritual formation for students and staff, support wellbeing initiatives, and build meaningful connections between College, Church and community. This role is both visionary and deeply relational. It is about presence, partnership and purpose.
This is a full-time position during the school term, with flexibility available during school holiday periods for the right candidate. The role also requires availability to work outside normal business hours and, where necessary, outside school term dates to support key College activities and respond to the needs of our community.
Commencement is Term 2, 2026, with some flexibility for the successful applicant.
Key Areas of Impact
* Lead and coordinate weekly worship across Primary and Secondary
* Oversee major Christian celebrations and milestone events
* Deliver Lutheran formation programs and staff accreditation pathways
* Provide pastoral care and collaborate with our Counselling and Student Support Services team
* Strengthen Christian Studies partnerships and faith integration
* Lead service learning and social justice initiatives
* Mentor student leaders in worship and service roles
* Act as a Child Safety Contact Officer
This is a role for someone who sees faith formation as both strategic and deeply personal. Someone who understands that culture is built through consistency, care and Christ-centred leadership.
About You
You are:
* A committed Christian with a vibrant and mature faith
* Passionate about Lutheran education and its theology of grace
* An authentic leader who models humility, integrity and compassion
* Relational, emotionally intelligent and culturally responsive
* Comfortable leading worship for children, adolescents and adults
* Experienced in schools, ministry or education contexts
* Committed to best-practice child safety and safeguarding
You may be a qualified teacher, minister or theological graduate.
You are equally comfortable leading a whole-school service, mentoring student leaders, facilitating staff formation, offering pastoral care in complex moments, and partnering with Executive Leadership in shaping mission and ministry strategy.
