The Role
The APS 4 Operations Administration Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support work at the Land Warfare Centre – Officer Training Wing (OTW).
They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to, relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. We are looking for someone with strong organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will be required to manage priorities, meet deadlines and exercise discretion. As the Administration Officer, you will interpret policy, legislation and procedures; provide administrative support, guidance and advice to the work area.
You will also provide administrative assistance to personnel, including staff administration and trainee management. This is a desk-based position involving computer use and working with others towards shared goals in a collaborative military team environment.

About our Team
The Operations Administration Support Officer will work in a small team at the Land Warfare Centre – OTW, responsible for providing formative junior leadership training for Officers across Army.
They will be required to engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes on behalf of the Wing to meet the mission of training junior leaders for employment across the Army Integrated Force. They will need to work integrally as part of the Wing team working with other APS members as well as junior and senior Army personnel. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within their work area. They will be the pinch point of the team in providing quality administration support to the staff and the trainees.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an applicant that displays excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and quality problems solving skills. They will be able to apply this to management of student and staff administration demonstrating time management of tasks that work towards optimal outcomes for the Wing. The applicant will be able to interact with lower to mid-leadership within a military environment and maintain pace with course administrative outcomes. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of NV1 Australian Government security clearance.
