It is essential that the post-holder should hold the MRCP (UK) or an equivalent qualification and be on the GMC specialist register or will obtain a relevant CCT within 6 months of interview.
The duties of the post are covered in the job plan. There will be scope to develop a subspecialty clinic/service and or engage in research with the local Research and development team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver high-quality care through a balanced programme of outpatient clinics, ward referrals, multidisciplinary team (MDT) work, and supporting professional activities. The role includes:
Conducting urgent and routine neurology clinics, ward referrals, and radiology meetings.
Contributing to multidisciplinary meetings, trainee supervision, and teaching.
Undertaking administrative duties to support clinical practice.
Participating in academic, study, and supporting professional activities (SPA), with opportunities for research and service development in collaboration with the local Research and Development team.
Engaging in educational supervision, appraisal, management, and leadership roles where appropriate.
The standard allocation is 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), with scope to increase up to 12 PAs in line with Trust policy, reflecting additional responsibilities such as subspecialty service development, clinical leadership, teaching, or research.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
* Full GMC Registration
* Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it in relevant specialty
