Job Description
We are looking for a Sample Receipt Officer to join our laboratory team in Notting Hill. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental samples (soil, water and air) are received, logged and processed accurately and efficiently, supporting the laboratory's ability to deliver timely and high‐quality results to clients.
This position plays a key role in the sample log‐in process, working closely with laboratory and customer service teams to maintain smooth operations and strong service delivery.
What You Will Do
* Unpack, sort and process incoming samples in a timely manner.
* Ensure samples are correctly identified, labelled and stored.
* Maintain sample integrity by preventing contamination during log‐in and sub‐sampling processes.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies with incoming samples.
* Support the Customer Service Supervisor with worksheet preparation and entry verification.
* Liaise with clients to ensure a high level of customer‐focused service.
* Maintain quality standards in line with company procedures and NATA accreditation requirements.
* Assist clients with logistics or sample submission queries.
* Perform sampling when required.
* Communicate sample receipt information with other laboratory teams.
* Carry out additional duties as directed by the Customer Service Supervisor
Qualifications
About You
* Relevant tertiary qualification (science or related discipline preferred).
* Commercial laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced laboratory environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
