Bray Constructions is a family-owned and run residential building company based in Melbourne's Bayside, specialising in high-end extensions, major renovations and custom new homes.

As our workload continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced, motivated Carpenter who brings strong technical ability, leadership, and a genuine passion for the craft.

Key Responsibilities
* All aspects of carpentry from site establishment through to project handover including, but not limited to, site set-outs, framing, lockup and fix carpentry
* Prepare materials take-offs and receive site deliveries
* Coordinate and support onsite trades
* Provide onsite training, guidance and leadership to apprentices
* Construct decks, pergolas and undertake general maintenance work
* Maintain a tidy, safe and well-organised site in accordance with OHS requirements
* Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on progress and forward planning to ensure timely project delivery
* Other duties as directed by management
About You – What We're Looking For
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
* Strong experience in residential building and renovations with a minimum of 6-8 years of carpentry experience in the residential sector, and a broad, well-developed carpentry skill set
* High-level problem-solving skills across construction, sequencing and coordination of trades
* Strong organisational abilities - you plan ahead, stay proactive and keep the job running smoothly
* Excellent plan-reading skills with the ability to interpret drawings accurately and identify any potential challenges early
* A good range of tools appropriate for all stages of carpentry
* A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
* Leadership qualities, including the ability to mentor and teach apprentices
* A commitment to site presentation, safety and OHS
* Effective communication, reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude
* The ability to work well within a team and self-manage when working alone
* A genuine passion for construction and pride in delivering high-quality work
* Australian citizenship required for this position
This role would particularly suit someone with a mid to senior level of experience who enjoys guiding younger team members and contributing to a positive, high-performing site environment.
