We are proud to be recognised as an employer of choice for women by WORK 180 Our Opportunity The Senior Solicitor will provide timely, authoritative legal advice to support the Commission's statutory decision making and tribunal functions. This position will also deliver expert advice and written briefings to the Commission, Directors and staff on gambling matters relating to investigations, disciplinary and litigation matters under the legislative, regulatory and policy framework for gambling regulation in Victoria. To be successful in this position you will have: * A tertiary qualification and will be admitted to the legal profession as an Australian Lawyer combined with post admission or relevant experience in a similar role (Minimum 3 years preferable) * Experience providing advice particularly on the practical application of statutory interpretation, administrative law, the preparation and construction of legal agreements and instruments (including instruments of delegation) * Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing the exercise of delegated decision-making powers in an administrative decision-making context. * Experience advising on litigation and prosecution. * Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment, with strong adaptability to shifting priorities and the ability to remain agile under changing circumstances. * Ability to handle a large workload involving complex legal matters within limited timeframes.
