**About the role**
As the Head of Performance and Research, reporting to the Manager of Strategy, Commercials and Partnerships, you will be responsible for building the organisation's capability in the Performance Reporting and Research and Insights space. You will be leading both the Performance & Reporting and Research & Insights Business Units by capturing performance data that allows us to monitor and report on the organisation's operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement, to ensure we are meeting our targets and KPIs.

You will also be responsible for guiding research and analysis to develop insights and identify trends that feed into our strategic direction and enable the team to produce rich insights that allow the organisation to make more informed and data-led decisions. You will work closely with the Strategy, Partnerships and Commercials leads, to identify opportunities for improvement, measure the feasibility of proposed commercial solutions and provide research-based recommendations and solutions for consideration and implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop and implement strategies, ways of working and systems to help modernise and mature the Performance & Reporting and Research & Insights functions according to the City's strategic goals and target operating model, in order to drive performance and uplift the City's capabilities in this area.
- Ensure collaborative and effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders by building trusting relationships and helping mature their understanding of performance and research, to foster a common understanding of the need for combining data sets to enrich our insights.
- Lead and manage the Performance & Reporting and Research & Insights units by effectively and efficiently managing resources' capacity, capability and utilisation, as well as managing key portfolios, deliverables and deadlines.
- Oversee tracking of performance KPIs and reporting to provide strategic guidance and ensure quality and timely delivery of the organisation performance and legislated reports.
- Develop and lead an advisory support function to partner with the business and provide advice and strategies for improving how the organisation conducts research, captures data from external and internal sources, and leverages insights.
- Provide strategic guidance and lead the development of processes, tools, and capabilities within the team to identify gaps in the current research and insights capability and implement solutions
- Proactively collaborate with the other SC&P; business units to provide advice, leveraging research and evidence to support and build the robustness of SC&P; priorities and initiatives.
- Successfully contribute to innovative thinking across the City by collaborating with leaders to leverage research and insights to identify innovative solutions and opportunities to uplift organisational performance
- Lead and facilitate ideation events and workshops to identify and project manage multi-disciplinary innovation projects across the City to address performance and insights gaps.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships team to identify and secure external partnerships and funding opportunities to support innovation events, and pilot projects.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary degree in commerce, strategy, data management, research, trend analysis, project management, engagement, communications, or related disciplines and extensive experience in a similar position.
