The Role
The Investment Support team facilitates investment into South Australia by connecting investors and companies with opportunities, industry networks, and other government agencies across a range of sectors. The role of the Events and Marketing Coordinator is to support the planning and delivery of marketing and events as part of the Department of State Development's strategic program of Investment activities, communications, inbound delegations, and other events. You will assist with event/project management, venue selection, budget preparation, development of marketing activity to promote DSD projects and priorities, liaising with stakeholders and coordinating invitee lists.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver event coordination support for DSD's program of events and initiatives as directed.
* Support the development of creative concepts for events and produce branded event materials.
* Participate in meetings and decision-making, maintaining information flows between key stakeholders.
* Assist in establishing an evidence base (market research, response tracking and analysis) for all events.
* Perform post-event duties including issuing communications, collecting feedback, processing invoices, and budget reconciliation.
* Liaise with contractors, agencies and external suppliers to ensure delivery to required standards within deadlines and budget.
* Support the promotion of integrated marketing activity and consistent messaging across the department's communications.
Key Competencies
Essential Technical Experience and Knowledge
* Experience in project delivery and coordinating events, evaluating events and sponsorships.
* Experience building networks and relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
* Understanding and experience using event management (EventsAir/OnAir) and marketing software (Mailchimp), plus digital marketing and social media.
* Knowledge of Government event promotion and sponsorship guidelines and protocols, including approvals and reporting processes, with marketing best practices.
Personal Skills
* Ability to establish and maintain consultative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage time, objectives and priorities; plan and coordinate concurrent projects to meet objectives.
Remuneration
Competitive salary (ASO4: $76,561 to $80,256 max pa) plus superannuation.
Qualifications
* Essential: Nil
* Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Marketing or equivalent
Special Conditions
* A satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
