We're looking for Works Safety Officers (WSOs) to join our Aviation Protective Services team at Sydney Airport, playing a vital role in keeping airside operations safe and compliant.

About the Role
As a Works Safety Officer, you'll be responsible for overseeing and supporting airside works to ensure they are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with aviation regulations and airport operating procedures. You'll work closely with contractors, Air Traffic Control, and airport operations teams to maintain safe conditions for aircraft operations at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and supervise airside works to ensure compliance with aviation safety standard
* Coordinate and communicate with Air Traffic Control (ATC) to support safe operations
* Escort vehicles, plant, and personnel within restricted airside environments
* Ensure all works areas are correctly marked, lit, and secured
* Liaise with contractors to manage risks and maintain compliance with approved work plans
* Conduct inspections before, during, and after works to ensure airfield safety and serviceability
* Provide real-time updates and reporting on operational and safety matters
* Support incident response and escalation where required
* Identify and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety

Desired knowledge/experience
* Understanding of airport or airside operations
* Familiarity with Airport Emergency Plans and Aviation Security Programs
* Knowledge of radio procedures
* Experience working in safety-critical environments or infrastructure
