A medium sized Residential Formwork company, we're looking for an Estimator experienced in formwork to join our team as we continue to grow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a stepping stone to grow within the industry.
About the role
Based in our Banksmeadow office, you\'ll play a crucial role in joining our office team of 5, ensuring our high-end residential projects are accurately priced.
You'll lead the estimating function, managing our current estimator and collaborating closely with the office team to deliver precise, timely quotes that help secure new business and ensure smooth project handovers.
You\'ll be responsible for estimating the costs of formwork, concrete placing & finishing and steel fixing services, from architectural & structural designs. Your expertise will help us maintain our reputation for quality and reliability.
Experience specifically in formwork estimation and take-offs is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the estimating function across all residential projects
2. Manage and mentor our current estimator
3. Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for formwork, concrete placing and steel fixing
4. Use take-off and estimation software to quantify materials and labour
5. Review architectural and structural drawings to determine scope
6. Develop budgets aligned with client needs and business goals
7. Manage and oversee the entire quoting process
8. Collaborate with project managers and builders for accurate scope definition
9. Maintain strong communication with architects, engineers and clients
10. Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies in pricing and delivery
11. Update estimation records and quote submissions in our systems
12. Track market trends, material costs and labour rates to ensure competitive pricing
13. Contribute to project handovers and ensure smooth transitions to delivery teams
14. Support process improvement across estimating and pre-construction
15. Represent the company professionally with clients, suppliers and stakeholders

About you
16. Proven experience estimating formwork projects
17. Proficient in take-off software, estimation software and Microsoft Office
18. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials and cost estimation techniques
19. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
20. Strong communication and negotiation skills
21. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
22. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
