Are you an experienced financial services professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for helping others? HomeStart, a South Australian Government-backed leader in affordable home ownership, is seeking a dedicated Deceased Estates Officer to join us on a 9 month fixed term contract.

About the Role

You will play a key part in managing our deceased estates files by taking ownership of the collation and verification of all required documentation. Working closely with executors, legal representatives, and internal stakeholders, you will ensure that every deceased estate file is prepared accurately and efficiently, working closely with an experienced Collections Officer - Deceased Estates.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with established experience in financial services who thrives on process, accuracy, and making a positive difference in a socially driven organisation.

What You'll Do

* Collate, verify, and organise all necessary documentation for deceased estate files, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational requirements.
* Liaise with executors, solicitors, next of kin, and internal teams to obtain and confirm required information.
* Maintain meticulous records and uphold privacy, legal, and regulatory standards.
* Communicate with empathy and professionalism, supporting families and representatives during sensitive times.
* Ensure timely and smooth transition of files and recovery actions between the operational areas.
* Contribute to process improvements and best practice in documentation management.

What We're Looking For

* Minimum 2 years' experience in a collections or financial services environment.
* Strong understanding of credit management legislation and deceased estate processes.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Empathy, discretion, and a customer-first mindset.
* Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
* Proficiency with MS Office and accurate data entry.
