Job Title
Lutheran Disability Services supports individuals with disabilities and their families through accommodation support and community participation. We empower people to have fun, connect with their community, learn new skills, increase independence, and access accommodation support.
Position Overview:
The Support Worker plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This position involves providing compassionate and respectful support to clients, fostering their independence, and promoting inclusion within the community.
We are looking for Support Workers located in the Barossa or surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
* Support clients in accessing community resources and services, including educational programs and recreational activities.
* Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other professionals to meet specific needs.
* Provide emotional support and encouragement to help clients achieve their personal goals.
* Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate team members.
* Ensure a safe environment by following health and safety protocols, reporting hazards, and maintaining cleanliness.
* Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in disability support services.
This role requires a commitment to dignity, respect, and empowerment of individuals with disabilities while promoting their rights and choices. The Support Worker will work collaboratively with a team of professionals dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
Required Skills and Qualifications

* Basic understanding of disability rights and advocacy.
