The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with and support our Head Chef in preparing and delivering high-quality, plant-based dishes. You will play an important part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and maintaining our commitment to sustainability, creativity, and excellence in food. Responsibilities
* Working under the direction of the Head Chef to prepare and cook a variety of plant-based dishes.
* Supporting the Head Chef in menu planning and execution, with attention to seasonal and sustainable ingredients.
* Assisting in daily kitchen preparation, including cleaning, cutting, and marinating food.
* Following prep lists and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service.
* Coordinating with other kitchen and wait staff to deliver timely, high-quality service.
* Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
* Contributing creative ideas and supporting the development of new recipes.
* Ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of dishes.
* Accepting feedback and working with the Head Chef to make improvements.
Skills Required
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a higher-level qualification in cookery or a related field.
* Applicants with at least three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
* Demonstrated knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen practices.
* Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of stock rotation, food handling, and kitchen operations.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* A passion for food, creativity, and continuous learning.
