What You’ll Do
As our Grounds and Maintenance Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of our resort’s presentation, safety and guest satisfaction. You will:
1. Lead & Inspire : Provide daily direction, motivation and support to our grounds and maintenance crew, ensuring everyone’s working together and having fun.
2. Team Management : Prepare rosters, allocate tasks and ensure the team receives all the training and development they need to shine.
3. Keep It Pristine : Oversee the presentation and safety of all resort assets, gardens, pools, cabins, villas, amenities and facilities.
4. Hands-On Help : Don your uniform with pride, jump in to help with minor repairs or guest requests, and always go the extra mile with a smile.
5. Collaborate : Attend head of department meetings, liaise with other leaders, and keep communication flowing to ensure smooth resort operations.
6. Resourceful Operations : Manage equipment servicing, maintenance schedules and department budgets, always looking for cost-effective solutions.
7. Safety First : Maintain a safe environment for staff and guests, championing best practice and compliance.
8. Project Ready : Assist with onsite projects, repairs and upgrades – there’s always something new happening at Turtle Sands!
9. Pool Perfection : Help the team keep our pools sparkling – ensure cleaning, dosing, water balance and repairs as needed.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience leading and motivating a team – background in parks, resorts or hotels highly regarded.
* Hands-on skills in grounds, gardens, plant and equipment maintenance (and/or pool care).
* A trade qualification is a bonus – but not essential if you’ve got the right know-how!
* Computer literacy and confidence with basic admin tasks.
* A can-do attitude, adaptability, and a knack for building rapport with guests and colleagues.
* Strong safety awareness and understanding of hygiene procedures.
* High energy, physical fitness and a willingness to get involved at all levels.
* Current manual driver’s licence.
* Organised, proactive and ready to embrace the unique challenges of a nature resort.
