About the Role
Part‐time position (0.6 FTE) based at Armidale Secondary College. School psychologists provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to support learning and wellbeing. The role offers opportunities for professional development, collaboration across school communities, and interaction with a diverse student body.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
* Engage with procedures of the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
* Work with school leadership and support services to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* Contribute to the social, emotional and academic development of students, including support for complex behavioural needs.
* Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, report results and collaborate on interventions.
* Work with learning and support teams, parents, carers and other agencies to develop school‐based support.
* Respond as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
* Refer students or families to appropriate agencies to support health and wellbeing outcomes.
Essential Requirements
* Knowledge and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, partnership agreement with NSW AECG Inc. and the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
* General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Valid and current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance – NSW.
* Current valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

* Base salary ranging from $101,122 to $160,983 plus leave loading and superannuation contributions.

Notes
A one‐off recruitment payment of $20,000 may be available. The role is a permanent part‐time position (0.6 FTE), but candidates seeking full or part‐time can be considered at their desired FTE.
