About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Diesel / Light Vehicle Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain a range of diesel‐powered and light vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel and petrol engines, and related vehicle systems.
* Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and safety checks.
* Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
* Replace worn or faulty parts, including brakes, transmissions and fuel systems.
* Conduct road tests to verify repairs and performance.
* Carry out monthly, quarterly & yearly inspections as required by the Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure.
* Maintain accurate service records and job documentation.
* Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
* Keep the workshop clean, organised and stocked with necessary tools and parts.
Skills & Qualifications
* Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle / Diesel) or equivalent.
* Proven experience as a diesel or light vehicle mechanic.
* Strong diagnostic and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Current driver's licence (LR, HR or MR licence desirable).
* Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
