As a Contract Officer, you'll be part of a supportive and experienced team that plays a key role in keeping the state's road network running smoothly. From managing contractual correspondence to coordinating meetings and verifying payments, your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure contracts are delivered efficiently and effectively.
You'll work closely with senior contract managers, service providers, and internal stakeholders, gaining valuable insight into public sector contract management while building your skills in a dynamic environment. About you
You are a detail-oriented professional with proven experience in contract administration, including managing payments, coordinating meetings, and maintaining accurate records in line with government and departmental policies. You thrive under broad direction, consistently delivering high volumes of accurate work and providing well-considered analysis and recommendations -even in sensitive or complex situations.
Your strong communication skills enable you to engage effectively at all levels, resolve conflict constructively, and contribute to positive and productive negotiations. You are confident in preparing clear, concise, and professional correspondence and reports. With a proactive mindset, you take ownership of your work and bring practical, innovative solutions to the table.
Educational Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline will be highly regarded.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Tenure of Vacancy
There is one temporary appointment (up to 12 months) and one ongoing position available.
Remuneration
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa. + Superannuation
