Team & Role Overview
Join a High‐Performing Surgical Team.Ward J3 is a fast‐paced Acute Upper GI and Colorectal Surgical Ward located within John Hunter Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse who is passionate about surgical nursing and keen to develop specialised clinical skills while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. You will be supported by a very hands‐on Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), senior nursing staff, and a dedicated Surgical Education Team committed to guiding and supporting your professional development. As an Enrolled Nurse, you will provide patient‐centred care to surgical patients throughout their hospital journey while working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Essential Criteria
* Current Enrolled Nurse registration
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Interest in surgical nursing
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to learn and develop new clinical skills
* Availability to work a 7‐day rotating roster across all shifts
Desirable
* Recent experience in a surgical or acute care unit
* Interest in developing advanced surgical nursing competencies
