Experience can be in either Civil, Mining, Bulk Earthworks or a mix, flexible on background. Ideally having worked on projects circa $10m or larger.
Our client is a well-established and market leading national civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior / Estimator to join their growing business.
Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a challenging projects.
Types of projects include demolition, bulk earthworks, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation etc. Typical values from $2.5 to $40m+.
Candidates will need to have strong communication skills as will be part of the preconstruction team and will be involved in putting the tender together as well as tender interviews.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Working on tendersCoordinating internal and external resourcesPreparation and submission of tendersEvaluate / review tender and estimating process for cost effectivenessTender negotiationsCoordinate tender handover to project teamPrepare budgets based on tender submissionAssess and price contract variation ordersLiaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
Qualifications and Requirements:Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar5 – 10+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $5m to $20m+Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approachEffective problem solving abilitiesHigh level of commercial acumenHigh level of organisation and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills
