 
        
        Overview 
Advisory Visiting Teacher - English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) – South East Region Partnerships and Programs. This role is based at Hope Island and involves working across schools in the South East Region to support educators and students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. You will play a critical role in enhancing outcomes for students, working with school teams, teachers, and families. 
Responsibilities 
- Assist classroom teachers with planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for all EAL/D students, focusing on English language acquisition across the curriculum. 
- Maintain teaching expertise and knowledge of evidence-based, effective teaching practices to improve learning for all EAL/D students. 
- Provide expertise, support and professional development at whole-school and individual teacher levels on pedagogy and assessment that meets the social and academic learning needs of all EAL/D students. 
- Work collaboratively with other specialist and classified teachers and the wider community to coordinate services which improve learning outcomes for all EAL/D students. 
Qualifications 
- A relevant teaching qualification. 
- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a teacher in Queensland. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have provisional registration prior to commencing employment. 
- In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services require a Blue Card exemption card. 
- Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the department's minimum requirements as a teacher.
