Located in Fyshwick, ACT, the café is known for its artisan baking, high-quality meals, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook/Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and supporting menu development while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Key responsibilities : Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards. Menu Support: Assist in menu planning, including seasonal updates, portion control, and food costing. Quality Control: Ensure all food prepared meets the business's quality and presentation standards. Kitchen Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation to minimise waste. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations. Training & Support: Assist in training junior kitchen staff and maintaining a positive team environment. Position Requirements : Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook or Chef Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café/restaurant environment Good communication and teamwork skills Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation.
