Job Overview
* The Purchasing assistant assists the Procurement Manager to ensure that through effective procurement strategies the company obtains the best value for their money and sustains cost reductions from expenditure on goods and services. This is done by monitoring the day-to-day procurement process/ policies and strategies.
Responsibilities and Duties
* To monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
* Assist in Researching potential vendors and if their products will add value to the business.
* Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
* Update internal database with order details (dates, suppliers, quantities, discounts)
* Assist in conducting market research to identify pricing trends.
* Assist in evaluating offers from suppliers and negotiate better pricing.
* Follow up with suppliers as needed to confirm or change orders.
* Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.
* Assist in price fluctuations depending on seasons, availability, and demand.
* Monthly reporting on purchasing reviews and EDA reports.
* Create an effective working relationship with the Sales Representatives to ensure the best possible price and service is given.
* To work alongside the sales team to ensure their needs are met.
