Be part of a forward-thinking organisation that is committed to continuous improvement and professional development.About the Health and Fitness Instructor roleAs a Health and Fitness Instructor you will engage and build strong relationships with members, whilst supervising the gym floor.Under our 'Everybody Welcome' philosophy we take pride in delivering outstanding service to all our members and guests.We are particularly looking for people with weekend and evening (approx. 6pm - 10.30pm) availability.Key responsibilities include:Conduct health consultations, re-assessment and program shows to members.Review, change, and modify exercise programs.Help provide and run Health club promotion challenges, member engagement and member retention activities.Efficiently deliver gym programs.Effectively manage the gym team's adherence to GEL's Service Improvement Program.Qualifications and experienceCertificate III in Fitness (minimum for Health and Fitness Instructor).Certificate IV in Fitness (required for Personal Trainers and Functional Training Instructors)Current First Aid HLTAID011 and CPR HLTAID009 Certificates (or willing to obtain prior to employment)Experience in delivering health & wellbeing programs.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of current exercise prescription and methods.A commitment to outstanding customer service and a genuine passion for health and fitness.Pre-employment checksProgressed candidates must undergo pre-employment screening as a standard procedure which will include:Providing evidence of current qualifications and registrationsProviding a Employee Working with Children CheckCompleting a new National Police Record CheckUndergoing Pre-employment medical assessmentProviding evidence of right to work in Australia.Pre-employment checks are not used by Glen Eira City Council to prevent any applicant from applying for this position.
