Responsibilities
* Plan, organise, and direct the preparation and cooking of food in a busy café kitchen.
* Design and contribute to menu development, ensuring dishes are innovative, cost‐effective, and aligned with customer preferences.
* Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
* Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior team members.
* Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier liaison to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and WHS requirements.
* Assist in maintaining kitchen operations, including rostering support and workflow efficiency.
* Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen.
Qualifications and Skills
* Relevant qualification in cookery.
* Minimum 1 year relevant experience.
* Excellent time‐management abilities.
* Up‐to‐date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes.
* Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
Salary
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 – $90,000, plus superannuation for a 38‐hour work week.
