As a Project Cost Management Expert, you will lead a high-performing team in a client-facing environment, driving excellence in project delivery and cost control. The role involves overseeing the setup, execution, and continuous improvement of cost control systems and procedures across the project.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, procurement leads, and engineering teams to ensure financial clarity, risk management, and strategic decision-making. You will also be responsible for forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on project costs, variances, and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and implementation of cost control systems and procedures
* Forecast, monitor, and report on project costs, variances, and trends
* Deliver monthly cost reports, dashboards, and insights to support project leadership
* Manage risk analysis and lead change management processes
* Coordinate with procurement and engineering leads to align cost strategies
* Support bid estimates and contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
* Collaborate with the broader Project Controls leadership team to shape long-term strategy
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and 12+ years of experience in cost control or project controls. They will possess proven ability to engage with stakeholders and drive best practices in project delivery, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure, while exhibiting a collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring and team development.
