Scientific Laboratory Assistant Role
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team. As a Scientific Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Routine receipting and processing of specimens, including operation and maintenance of analysers.
* Pre and post analytical specimen handling.
* Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens.
* Filing and storage of specimens and data entry.
* Assisting Scientists in the Lab as required.
* Continuous learning of processing requirements of different types of samples for different tests.
* Staying up to date with processing updates.
* Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries.
* Identifying and resolving problems on at the pre-analytic stage.
Requirements:
* Specimen processing and data entry experience.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and work as a team.
* Understanding the importance of following procedures accurately.
* A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures.
* Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential.
* Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection is desirable.
