Job Summary

A Quantity Surveyor is required to join a thriving sector, working on exciting and meaningful projects.
Responsibilities include assessing supplier claims, calculating quantities of labour, materials and durations, and supporting assessment of non-conformance.
Support initial tendering, contract management and supplier disputes, working with the contract managers to deliver to cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements.
Ensure commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts are managed from procurement to interim and final account agreement, in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing option and/or best practice.
Establish and agree contractual programme, forecasting and reporting project commercial performance.
Support the assessment of Contractor claims and payment valuations, ensuring these are accurately assessed, challenged appropriately, certified and paid on time.
Assist regular progress and contract performance meetings to facilitate agreement of contractual changes, while ensuring that the contractual timeframes are complied with.
Work with key stakeholders to resolve issues as escalated through the Subcontractors, internal stakeholders or the Line of Business Production Subcontracts Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Accountable for monitoring accurate Contractor progress on site, carrying out accurate site and quantity measurements, and reporting over measure or cost adjustments required.
About This Opportunity
This role requires an individual who can work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and time management skills.
Required qualifications include a degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial discipline, and experience in the delivery of services/construction contracts.
Demonstrated skills in managing production subcontracts, including valuations, claims and disputes, are essential.
The successful candidate will be able to negotiate effectively and have a sound understanding of standard Method of Measurement.
About You
We seek an Australia citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance, with demonstrated Quantity Surveying experience within a relevant sector.
Strong commercial skills and acumen, combined with outstanding communication and time management skills, are necessary for success in this role.
Additionally, experience in the delivery of services/construction contracts, detailed understanding of optimal contracting and pricing routes, is highly desirable.
