What You'll Be Doing
The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery-focused clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison and review for children and young people presenting with symptoms of mental illness, distress and/or risk issues.
Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist OR tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counselor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership in the relevant professional association.
* Demonstrated experience in contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice including conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and their families/carers experiencing mental illness.
* Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
* Understanding of mental health rehabilitation and recovery principles and demonstrated experience using a collaborative, strengths-based approach to care of mental health consumers.
* High-level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers and stakeholders, and high proficiency in computer literacy.
* Current unrestricted driver's licence, ability to maintain, and willingness to drive/travel as required, potentially over long distances.
