About the role:
We seek an accomplished and highly motivated person for atechnical sales role based in Northern Queensland, preferably located in Mackay.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing business and actively growing new business, with a strong focus on the mining and minerals processing industries.
The successful candidate will be required to travel regularly to existing and prospective customers within Northern Queensland and the Northern Territory.
We seek a person who is ready to learn and take new products to market, including our new wireless connected solutions.
Key responsibilities:
* Technical support to existing and new customers to ensure best practice use of Perma lubrication systems.
* Collaborative work with distribution partners to maintain and grow their sales base.
* Development of new business, from prospecting through to operational implementation, for our traditional range of lubrication systems and our growing range of connected solutions.
* Technical assessment of customer requirements and completion of written recommendations and quotations.
* Completion and documentation of equipment surveys, especially fixed plant equipment in the mining industry, such as electric motors, conveyors, pumps and fans.
* Training of customer personnel in the correct use of Perma lubrication systems.
* Regular reporting of activities.
* Periodic completion of business development plans.

Skills and experience:
* Highly respectful attitude toward work place safety.
* Demonstrated history of self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously.This is a home office based role with a high degree of autonomy.
* At least 5 years' experience in a ‘technical sales’ role involving direct interface with the mining industry.
* Proven track history of achieving growth in previous roles.
* A mechanical trade or tertiary education in the field of mechanical engineering would be an advantage, but not essential.
* An understanding of lubrication fundamentals for rolling element bearings.
* An interest and willingness to learn about connected lubrication systems which rely on multiple wireless communication protocols.
* An interest and willingness to learn about the requirements for intrinsically safe lubrication systems for hazardous areas.
* Good familiarity with fixed plant equipment used in the mining and mineral processing industries such as electric motors, fan, slurry pumps and conveyors.
* Work history which has involved a professional interface with equipment reliability, condition monitoring and maintenance personnel in the mining industry.
* Capability and eagerness to be involved in hands-on technical support to clients.
* Physical capability to conduct extensive walking audits of equipment such as material handling conveyors.
* Willingness to complete the inductions required to gain access to customer operations.This will require the successful candidate to pass a medical clearance and drug and alcohol testing as required to gain access to the mining operations.
* Ability to complete clear written communication using tools such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
* Good familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
