Role
The Project Manager plays a key role in the successful delivery of major public transport (Tram) projects as well as engaging with key stakeholders. By supporting the Principal Project Manager and the wider team, the Project Manager is also responsible for contributing to successful project delivery which maximises value for money for the State.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
1. Successful development and delivery project management of high value high risk and complex infrastructure projects to agreed scope, time, quality and budget outcomes to achieve DTP safety, operational and commercial objectives whilst ensuring that public transport services operate to agreed service levels.
2. High quality project governance and operating in compliance with a whole of project life cycle process with appropriate stage gates and peer reviews that deliver the highest quality public transport projects for all Victorians.
3. Ensure other government agencies’ projects are integrated seamlessly into the transport network and align with DTP objectives.
4. Highly satisfied clients and stakeholders who trust the Project Manager for accurate, high-quality advice relating to the project’s delivery and innovative solutions to complex issues as they arise.
5. Effective collaboration management of multiple stakeholders, and stakeholder cooperation and involvement at senior level to ensure high quality project delivery.
6. Successful representation of DTP and the Division in a range of internal and external forums.
We are seeking a successful applicant who possesses project management proficiency in civil engineering or commercial infrastructure, successfully delivering medium to major public transport projects. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of public transport service delivery, contracts, and the role of DTP, coupled with skillful stakeholder management that can influence decisions both internally and externally. Commercial acumen is important for effective negotiations with suppliers and franchisees, while adept written communication skills are needed for comprehensive project documentation. Additionally, a grasp of intricate organisational governance and reporting structures is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
7. Tertiary qualification, or proven extensive experience, in Engineering, Project Management, Planning or related discipline.
Desirable
8. Postgraduate qualification in Project Management or Business.
