Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an experienced Biomedical Engineer to drive the full lifecycle management of clinical technology and medical devices across our hospitals.

Remuneration: $106,926 - $116,904 + 12.5% super + Salary packaging

Responsibilities
Lead teams of Technical Officers and Biomedical Engineers to deliver high-quality biomedical engineering service including contract management, compliance oversight, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate closely with clinicians, service managers, procurement teams, HealthShare, vendors and clinical technology staff to manage district-wide medical equipment contracts.
Coordinate medical device recalls, safety notices and incident investigations in partnership with Clinical Governance and other stakeholders.
Represent HNECT in the planning, installation, commissioning and integration of health technologies across new and existing facilities.
Support quality improvement initiatives including staff training, process optimisation and auditing activities.
Ensure accurate equipment data entry into the HNECT Equipment Management System to maintain asset traceability and history.
Review work performed by the team, providing guidance and leadership that promotes excellence and service improvement.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' experience in a clinical technology or biomedical engineering environment.
Demonstrated leadership experience supervising biomedical engineers / technicians and managing medical device servicing and maintenance.
Proven experience managing medical device lifecycle activities in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and Health Facility Guidelines.
Strong contracts and compliance management capabilities, with the ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to recommend, evaluate, and coordinate biomedical equipment integration strategies and deployments.
