Details: ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications from experienced, highly motivated and suitable individuals to temporarily fill the position of Assistant Director, Projects (SOGC), within the Strategic Projects Team.
Working closely with Infrastructure Canberra, Custodial Operations, consultants, vendors and relevant stakeholders, the Assistant Director, Projects, is the primary ACTCS representative for the AMC Hail Damage Project at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC).
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of project planning and reporting documentation, including project schedules, plans, registers and status reports.
In addition, you will manage project and site contact activities such as sourcing information pertaining to Requests For Information (RFIs), reviewing design and scope reports and ensuring project activities are compliant with laws, legislation, regulations and government policies and procedures.
Further to this, you will conduct regular meetings with the stakeholders and vendors, providing updates to the Project Control Group, Senior Director and the Infrastructure Program Board, and ensure compliance with Australian Standards (AS), the Building Code of Australia (BCA), as well as local regulations.
To be successful will have proven project management and organisational skills and will be able to demonstrate technical knowledge over multiple disciplines within highly regulated secure facilities.
Eligibility/Other Requirements
* The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or equivalent work experience in the criminal justice system is highly desirable.
* An unrestricted Drivers licence class C is essential.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
* Experience working within a custodial or secure environment is highly desirable.
* Qualification in one or more of the following areas are highly desirable:
* Roofing
* Plumbing
* Gas Fitting
* Electrical
* Project Management
* Working at heights
* Working on roofs
