The RoleYou will be responsible for the operation of our state of the art production machines to pack our ultra fresh salads and become a part of the team essential to the operation of the factory.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure machines are running efficiently and identify production/quality issues and acting efficiently to remedy the situation.Focus on delivering through-put performance (machine set up time/downtime and run rate).
Reading and interpreting production run sheetsMaintain constant communication with Team Leader for speed and flow of product to ensure continuous production.Ensure any issues are immediately reported to workshop/maintenance and Shed ManagerAdvise Production Manager of any issues Eg: orders not complete.Ensure machine and surrounding areas are tidy, organised and OH&S compliant.Ensuring compliance to all food safety standards, HACCP/GMP and maintain all associated paperwork.Quality conscious - making product right the first time.Abide by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) at all times.Commitment to continual improvement of the process.A safety-first approach to your work to ensure your own safety and the safety of others.Reporting to: Team Leader & Production Supervisor Desired Skills and Experience Previous experience as skilled machine operator (ideally from packaging industry but not essential)Experienced in Lean manufacturing techniques.Excellent standards of behaviourStrong communication skills both verbal & written.Attention to detail with sound numeracy & literacy skills.Ability to work in a refrigerated environment 2.5 degrees.Ability to work rostered Saturdays as required to fulfill our production demands.Reliability is critical in this role.Must be a team player with a positive, self-motivated, and proactive attitude.A robust understanding of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety principlesNB: Position is advertised as casual, however full time can be available if you prefer.This job description serves to illustrate the scope and responsibilities of the post and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties.
