Senior Integration Software Engineer (Developer)
12-month contract | Federal Government | Remote | Canberra-based program
A Federal Government agency is seeking a Senior Integration Software Engineer to support the ongoing development, enhancement and support of critical intellectual property rights management systems. This role sits within a collaborative agile delivery environment and focuses on maintaining and improving enterprise integration and web-based platforms that support nationally significant services.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team of developers, business analysts and technical specialists, you will design, develop and maintain modern integration solutions while ensuring the reliability and performance of production systems.
This is a 12-month contract with potential extensions and offers remote working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, deploy and maintain enterprise IT applications supporting core business services
* Build and enhance integration solutions across modern web and enterprise platforms
* Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs
* Investigate and resolve production issues while supporting system stability and performance
* Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including system designs, architecture decisions and technical specifications
* Collaborate with developers and technical specialists in an Agile delivery environment
* Mentor and support team members to promote knowledge sharing and cross-skilling
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, learning and collaboration
Essential Skills and Experience
* Senior-level experience developing modern web applications using enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft, J2EE, and RESTful web services
* Strong front-end development expertise using Vue.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript (ES6+)
* Demonstrated experience working with the PEGA platform as a workflow automation tool, including integration with bespoke front-end solutions
* Strong problem-solving ability and experience supporting complex enterprise systems
* Ability to work effectively within Agile teams
Desirable Experience Experience or knowledge of the following will be highly regarded:
* Pega Constellation
* Containerisation technologies (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker)
* Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Data storage technologies including ElasticSearch, Oracle DB, and PostgreSQL
Additional Information
* Contract length: 12 months
* Start date: April 2026 (anticipated)
* Extensions: Up to 3 x 12-month options
* Working arrangement: Remote
* Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
* Maximum hours: 40 hours per week
* Experience level: Senior (EL1 equivalent)

* $140-150.00 per hour inc Super / Weekly pays
