Job Description
At Montu, we’re transforming healthcare access through technology — and we’re looking for a Technical Lead to help us scale, innovate, and deliver best-in-class digital experiences.
In this pivotal role, you'll set the technical direction and elevate the performance of a high-performing engineering team. You’ll work hands-on to design scalable, secure systems, mentor engineers, and champion continuous improvement — all while ensuring our platform is aligned with the broader mission of delivering personalised alternative health services to thousands of patients.
What You’ll Do
* Lead with purpose – Set strategic direction and drive technical excellence across major projects and systems.
* Code with confidence – Design and build scalable solutions using React, Node.js/NestJS, GraphQL, AWS, and more.
* Mentor & elevate – Uplift the skills and capabilities of the team through coaching, code reviews, and pairing sessions.
* Collaborate cross-functionally – Partner with engineering managers, product teams, and business stakeholders to turn ideas into impactful solutions.
* Champion best practices – Lead architectural decisions, ensure clean, testable code, and continuously improve tooling and delivery processes.
* Drive innovation – Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce tech debt, and explore emerging technologies.
Qualifications
* A strong software engineering background with experience leading technical teams and delivering high-impact products.
* Deep expertise in modern web technologies – TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, and AWS.
* Experience working across the SDLC with a clean architecture mindset and a focus on scalability and maintainability.
* Proven ability to influence, mentor, and inspire others while maintaining a hands-on technical presence.
* Excellent communication skills – able to translate technical details into clear business value.
* A growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
