Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring effective cleaning, decontamination, packing and sterilising of items for reprocessing in accordance with AS 4187 and will be responsible for utilising associated equipment appropriately.
The Position- Management of cleaning, drying, packing and sterilising processes and associated equipment- Maintain safe practise in accordance with Universal precautions policy whilst processing contaminated items.- Ensure appropriate utilisation of chemicals in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.- Utilise instrument and equipment washers appropriately.- Ensure that steriliser performance tests are performed and documented appropriately.- Maintain correct sterilisation documentation.- Utilise electronic instrument tracking system effectively- Maintain environmental cleanliness.- Problem-solve processing on sterilising issues effectively and take appropriate action.- Maintain appropriate and effective assembly and packing of instruments, trays, packs and items for reprocessing.- Ensure appropriate decontamination and sterilisation processes are employed.
You will hold an approved Certificate in Sterilisation Technology, with experience in sterilisation services and instrument processing. You will demonstrate competencies associated with work practice requirements of SSD.
To succeed you will have the ability to problem solve, as well as liaise with colleagues and other health professionals effectively to provide quality customer service and demonstrate commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement.
