Are you passionate about using the power of music to enhance the well‑being of individuals? SA Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Music Therapists to join our Subacute Services team in Adelaide's metropolitan southern region.
About the role
In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with patients and their families, providing therapeutic music interventions to support their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs. Through the use of music, you will create a nurturing environment that promotes healing, comfort, and overall quality of life.
You will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating group and individual music therapy sessions. Your expertise will be invaluable in engaging patients and promoting positive outcomes through evidence‑based music therapy practices.
Duties for the role will include
* Contribute to quality service delivery and consumer driven care through a comprehensive Music Therapy program
* Assessing the client's musical interests and appropriately designing intervention services to meet these needs
* Planning and implementing intervention programs
* Participating in team meetings and case conferences
* Contributing to the planning and service development for Music Therapy services in conjunction with the Service Manager and relevant Allied Health Lead
About you
* Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification in music therapy. Eligible for membership of the Australian Music Therapy Association
* Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment and intervention with clients with a range of illness and disabilities relevant to older people, acute care and rehabilitation
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience and clinical expertise in the provision of clinical Music Therapy services (assessment and treatment) to clients with a range of disorders and disabilities resulting from medical, surgical or neurological conditions including acquired brain injury
* Demonstrated experience in planning and reviewing clinical services, and participation in quality and research activities
* Training or postgraduate qualifications in relevant clinical, supervisory or management theory or skills
