Deputy Australian Statistician (SES Band 3), Data and Statistical Practices Group
We are seeking an established and inspiring senior leader from the public, private or community sector to join our Executive Leadership Group.
About the Role
This role reports to the Australian Statistician and will lead over 1,100 staff across Australia, with offices in each capital city and Geelong. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing data, developing new methods of working with data, making data available to users, and developing critical statistical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

* Developing and managing critical statistical infrastructure
Transformational Leadership
The successful candidate will lead substantial transformation of key aspects of ABS work, including modernisation of how we source data from households and businesses to provide a contemporary digital-first experience, and how we produce key statistics on household income, wealth, and expenditure.

Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge and senior leadership experience in data and statistics, preferably in a government setting, is a requirement for this position.
