Purpose of the position
This essential role is to enhance the company's ability to respond to new business opportunities, play a key role in ensuring high-level support to existing clients, and assist in developing and improving the company's voice and network infrastructure and products. Please note that the primary focus of this position is on voice technologies with network responsibilities primarily to support and sustain that infrastructure.
This will be achieved by replicating key technical skill sets of the Managing Director, specifically in voice and networking, being involved in site audits, taking responsibility for delivering assigned client solutions, performing high-level helpdesk support, and working on internal projects.
Interactions are with existing clients and potential clients, team members as well as with staff from IT partners that serve the same clients.
Responsibilities & duties
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager,
* Review potential client environments to understand existing communications in place.
* Deliver solutions to clients, managing project components such as client interactions, delivery timeframes, third-party involvement, internal resources, and configuring network and voice components as required.
* Troubleshoot client network and voice issues.
* Assist in development of voice and network products under the direction of the Managing Director, as well as undertake internal projects related to managed client infrastructure and internal infrastructure.
* Provide mentorship, training and direction to helpdesk & technical staff as required and contribute to the creation of helpdesk & product related documentation.
Academic & Professional qualifications
Essential qualifications:
* Currently undertaking, or have completed, post-secondary studies in either Computer Engineering or Technical communication-based studies
Work experience & skills
Essential experience:
* Proven knowledge and experience in managing and troubleshooting Voice over IP and IP Telephony
* Proven knowledge and experience in building and troubleshooting SME data networks including Switching, Wifi, Routing, Firewall and VPN
* Demonstrated ability to manage solution delivery projects for clients
Desirable qualifications:
* A good knowledge of Telecommunications services such as NBN and other broadband, SIP Trunking etc.
* A good knowledge of Open-Source Asterisk and/or Linux will be highly regarded

Relationships
Details of relationships relevant to this role:
* Supervision: Operation Manager will provide overall supervision and feedback
* Training: Both the Operations Manager and the Managing Director provide on the job training for tasks required

Salary
Remuneration offered is commensurate with skills & experience, plus the degree to which you can fulfill all the duties. As such, there is scope for the 'right' person to grow into the position.
