Lead Pharmacist - Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicines
The position of Lead Pharmacist - Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicines requires a clinical leader with expertise in medication safety and quality use of medicines. This role will lead, coordinate, and manage activities, programs, and systems associated with medication safety and quality use of medicines.
This role will work collaboratively at both the site/service level and across the district to maintain leadership and efficient performance of the SESLHD Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicines program.
The successful candidate will have significant experience and demonstrated high level of competence, expertise, skill, and application of clinical judgment relevant to Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicines.
This role is based at Prince of Wales Hospital providing service with flexible hours across the seven day week, participating in on-call, after-hours, flexible work hours, weekend, and public holiday work.
The key responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of strategies for improving medication safety and quality use of medicines, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to promote safe and effective medication use.
The ideal candidate will be registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post-registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and implementation of strategies for improving medication safety and quality use of medicines.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote safe and effective medication use.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures related to medication safety and quality use of medicines.
* Conduct audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement in medication safety and quality use of medicines.
* Provide education and training to healthcare staff on medication safety and quality use of medicines.
Selection Criteria:
* Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Significant experience and demonstrated high level of competence, expertise, skill, and application of clinical judgment relevant to Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicines.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant state and national policies that facilitate Medication Safety and Quality Use of Medicine.
* Excellent written communication skills.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability and commitment to effectively role model, champion, and promote teamwork.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in managing a complex workload, problem-solving, and development and implementation of initiative.
