About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Chef to join the supportive and friendly team at Baptcare's Amberlea Community in Drouin, VIC. This is a casual position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in a caring environment.

The Role of the Chef is to ensure that the meals and refreshments are delivered to our residents that meet their individual nutritional needs and preferences. The Chef is also responsible for providing services that are in line with the Food Safety Program guidelines.

Key Duties

* Contribute to the production of food items such as therapeutic diets, special meals, etc.
* Follow recipe cards and prepare defined menus in a timely manner.
* Assist the Head Chef with the management of the Food Safety Program Guidelines and its day-to-day compliance.
* Assist with stock inventory.
* Ensuring high standards of food handling practices are maintained.
* Delivery of meals across dining areas within a residence.
* Provide support to the retail café area or for functions and events within the residence.
* Provide support for function planning and delivery.

About You

You are passionate about continuing to grow your career in hospitality within the Residential Aged Care space. We are looking for individuals who are solution-focused and want to make a difference by aligning their strategic approach for achieving organisational goals.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you collaborate with and support others, demonstrating respect in your day-to-day actions.

You will ideally bring the following:

* Mandatory Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007)
* Relevant Industry Training – Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate.
* Commercial Cookery Certificate III / IV.
* Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, and special diet preparation.
* Previous experience working in catering within a residential aged care facility.
