Scotch Oakburn College is seeking highly motivated and versatile educators to join our dynamic teaching team in Launceston, Tasmania. We are excited to offer the following opportunities commencing in January 2026:
Teacher – Japanese (Permanent 0.7FTE) with the potential to increase to full-time where a second teaching method aligns with College needs.
Teacher – Maths/Science (Permanent) up to full time with part-time options also available.
Teacher – Food Technologies (Maximum term 0.7FTE for the 2026 academic year) with the potential to increase to full-time where a second teaching method aligns with College needs.
These teaching positions are based in Launceston, Tasmania, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our students' educational and creative development.

What you will be doing
· Delivering engaging and innovative lessons in either Japanese, Mathematics/Science, or Food Technologies that inspire curiosity and support deep learning.
· Collaborating with colleagues to plan and implement a rich, integrated curriculum that supports students' academic and personal development.
· Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for learning.
· Providing individualised support and guidance to help students achieve their full potential across diverse subject areas.
· Organising and supporting subject-specific extracurricular activities, events, or enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
· Actively contributing to the broader life of the school community, including participation in school events, initiatives, and collaborative projects.
What we are looking for
· Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in Japanese, Mathematics/Science, or Food Technologies.
· An outstanding secondary classroom teacher with deep subject knowledge in one or more of the specified learning areas.
· Experience designing and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that foster student understanding and enthusiasm for the subject.
· A positive contributor to the College's pastoral care and co-curricular programs, supporting student wellbeing and holistic development.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
· Strong organisational and time management skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and classroom needs.
· A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with a willingness to contribute to faculty planning and the broader school community.
· A genuine commitment to the values and mission of Scotch Oakburn College.
· Registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board, or eligibility to obtain such registration.
