Abouthe Role
This isa casual position covering staff leave, working on anas requiredbasis.
Your roleis to work within the team assisting nursing staff in care delivery, one to onepatient watches and other tasks as directed by nursing staff.
- Availabilityto work across a variety of shifts, sometimes at short notice, isessential.
- Shiftsare 8 hours in duration, Monday to Sunday, AM, PM and Nights.
Aboutthe Team/Location
Murchisonis a rural service town, with a permanent population of approximately 1100,located halfway between Nelson and Westport (1.5 hours travel in eitherdirection).
MurchisonCommunity Hospital and Health Centre provides an integrated service of PrimaryHealth, In-Patient and PRIME care. The Health Centre has 5 day a week GP orNurse Practitioner clinics alongside daily Registered Nurse clinics. Thehospital has 6 aged care beds and 2 flexible beds. The flexible beds allow forassessment and observation, respite, palliative and rehabilitation care.
As aHealth Care Assistant you will be part of a dedicated nursing environment withfull support.
Aboutyou
We arelooking for applicants who have a mature outlook and the ability to get on witha wide variety of people. Previous experience in a hospital, or aged careenvironment, would be an advantage; however, training will be provided.
Qualifications
- Year11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
