About the Role
We are currently seeking Industrial Painters for our head office/workshop in Geraldton, Western Australia.
Responsibilities
Perform surface preparation on steel or hard composition objects, ensuring the removal of all contamination and achieving the specified finish.
Blast to profile tolerances and specifications.
Apply two-pack paint or similar coatings to structural steel and machinery using airless and conventional spray guns.
Review painting specifications and comply with the required standards.
Maintain accurate records of painting thickness, including DFTs, paint reports, salt testing, etc., as necessary.
Manage inventory of materials, including paints and consumables, and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of machines and equipment.
Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria
Trade qualified Painter Blaster Cert III in Surface Preparation and Coating preferred.
Or SSPC Train the Painter Gold Qualification.
Minimum 4 years' experience with structural steel blast and paint.
Conversant in the handling, mixing and application of various coating systems.
Ability to work well in a team in remote areas.
Strong commitment towards safety and quality.
Motivated and hardworking with a professional attitude.
Hold a current manual driver's licence.
Forklift and EWP are desirable but not essential.
Ability to pass a medical and D&A screen.
