About Us
Play Poles supplies custom-designed playground equipment, outdoor fitness equipment, shade sails, shade shelters, and multipurpose sports courts across Queensland. We are a small, family-run business based on the Sunshine Coast and have proudly operated since 1993.
Our valued clients include the Department of Education, local councils, childcare centres, and schools .
We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Metal Fabricator / All-Rounder to join our production and installation team in Kunda Park .
This position reports to the Factory Foreman & Business Owner. Workplace references will be required if shortlisted for an interview.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Fabrication and installation of playground and fitness equipment, shade sails, shade shelters & multipurpose sports courts.
2. Welding & fabrication with aluminium, steel, and stainless steel (MIG/TIG).
3. General labouring, landscaping, and trade assistant duties for our main fabricator.
4. Site work involving manual handling, civil, roofing, and playground installations.
5. Some travel and overnight stays for on-site projects are involved.
Who We’re Looking For:
1. A hands-on team player with a strong work ethic.
2. Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
3. Flexible with work hours and work tasks, and must be willing to travel when required.
4. Able to read and follow site plans, detailed drawings, work to schedules, and adapt to varied tasks.
5. Construction experience preferred.
Must-Have Skills & Licenses:
1. Full Driver’s License.
2. White Card (Construction).
3. Blue Card (Working with Children) – or willing to obtain one.
4. MIG/TIG welding experience.
5. Sheet Metal fabrication skills.
6. QBuild Contractor Induction prepared to obtain.
Bonus Points for:
1. Forklift HRW license.
2. Working at heights/EWP/Boom Lift ticket (Yellow Card).
3. Background in construction, roofing, building or landscaping.
Position Details:
Type: Full-time position
Hours: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (Mon–Thu), 7:00 am – 1:00 pm (Fri)
Overtime: Available
