Trainee Dry Cleaning All-rounder
The Dry Cleaning Operator will set up and operate machinery to wash or dry-clean clothing, blankets, rugs, and other items. Operate pressing equipment. Serve customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Label items upon receipt and include cleaning instructions with items.
* Removes spots and stains using appropriate solvents, chemicals, detergents, or other cleaning agents.
* Operate dry cleaning machines, washers, and dryers.
* Clean, press, iron, and steam clothing and other fabric items.
* Hang or fold items when the cleaning process is complete.
* Label items when ready for pickup or delivery.
* Inspects machinery and performs maintenance when necessary
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to read customer instructions regarding requested cleaning methods and stain removal.
* Ability to read and follow manuals for the use of cleaning agents.
* Ability to operate washing machines, dryers, and dry-cleaning equipment and presses.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to learn software used to prepare cleaning tickets.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Must have a friendly, helpful demeanour.
Education and Experience:
* Previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of standing and working in hot, humid environment.
* Must be able to lift 10-20 kilograms at a time to load and unload items.
