Overview
Our client is a tier-one infrastructure developer delivering a large-scale, multi-year project. They seek an experienced
Senior Quantity Surveyor
to support the commercial management of a technically complex civil works program. This role is client-side, on a 5/2 FIFO roster flying from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne on a 2-year fixed-term contract. For those open to relocation to a regional location, a relocation package can be provided.
The Role
In this client-side role, reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll take ownership of contract administration, commercial performance, and cost controls across a critical delivery package. You'll be embedded in a dynamic project team with high visibility across the broader delivery program.
Key Responsibilities
Administer contracts, including variations, claims and payment assessments
Prepare accurate commercial reports, forecasts and cost-to-complete reviews
Manage contractor progress reports, surveillance records and site diaries
Collaborate with planning, engineering and procurement teams
Maintain a register of commercial correspondence and manage timelines for notices
Provide strategic commercial advice to project leadership
Support procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations
Mentor and support junior commercial team members
Your Background
Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Proven 1st tier contractor experience on complex civil or infrastructure projects
Deep understanding of contract models (e.g. EPC, remeasurement) and construction law
Skilled in reporting, risk assessment, variation negotiation and earned value management
Comfortable working in a high-pressure, site-based environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with RMS/TfNSW standards is advantageous
Membership with RICS or similar bodies is a plus
