About the Role and Responsibilities An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Development Manager or Development Manager to join the project team on a large-scale multi-residential development that is currently in construction. Reporting to a Project Director and working closely with a Senior Design Manager, Construction Manager, and Assistant Development Manager, this role will play a key part in managing the project through the construction, delivery, and settlement phases, while also contributing to ongoing design, authority, and commercial outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Managing the development lifecycle during construction, ensuring alignment between design, programme, cost, and delivery outcomes Acting as a key interface between development, design, construction, consultants, and internal stakeholders Supporting and overseeing design coordination, consultant management, and authority interfaces during live construction Monitoring programme, risk, and cost implications from a development perspective Managing authority approvals, compliance conditions, and post-permit requirements Supporting procurement, contract administration oversight, and delivery strategy alongside construction leadership Assisting with sales, settlements, and handover processes where required Mentoring and supporting junior team members, including the Assistant Development Manager This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys being deeply involved in the delivery of complex projects. Job Requirements 7 years’ experience in Development Management, Project Management, or a closely related role Proven experience delivering large-scale multi-residential or mixed-use developments, ideally through construction and completion Strong understanding of construction processes, design management, and authority frameworks Experience working closely with builders, consultants, and senior internal stakeholders Commercially astute with strong risk, cost, and programme awareness Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Tertiary qualification in Property, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline Melbourne market experience highly regarded
