Procurement and Purchasing Officer
Location: Hobart
Full time, 3 months fixed term contract
Hourly rate: $44 per hour + super
In this role, you will be a key part of the Procurement Services Team, handling daily purchasing tasks that are crucial for keeping the organisation running smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the complete purchasing lifecycle from requisition to order placement, ensuring all activities are conducted with accuracy and in a timely manner.
* Utilise and maintain procurement systems to process purchase orders, track deliveries, and manage vendor information.
* Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing expert advice on procurement processes and building strong working relationships to meet their needs.
* Proactively identify and resolve any issues related to purchasing, invoices, or supplier communication.
* Maintain meticulous records of all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
* A solid background in purchasing and procurement processes
* Demonstrated experience using major purchasing or ERP systems such as Maximo, SAP, or JD Edwards.
* High-level computer literacy with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
